| Angus | Phil, hopefully I can catch up with you soon and explain my position personally rather than words posted on a notice board being banded back and forward. I wish I hadn't posted that comment but I can't agree with many of your sentiments regarding Celtic FC, its meanings and it intentions and no doubt you won't agree with mine. I am more than happy to come on here and exchange banter re Samaras, Brown et al. Especially after last nights shocking result. | 29/07/2010 11:53 |

| Paddy Willis | Well said Phil! Angus im not sure what your point was? Nationality, religion or politics have nothing to do with showing respect for the dead. 60,000 people in the emerald or 6 i couldnt careless, it doesnt change/defend your disrespectful comment below. TAL | 26/07/2010 23:00 |
| pk | Where do I start, lol. Celtic as you know Celtic is a club founded by the Irish, primarily to feed the poor Irish in the east end of Glasgow. People say Celtic is more than just a football club, and never a truer word spoken. Celtic is all about, civil rights for all, freedom, republicanism, socialism, equality. I've never been on any Celtic website that has a charter of integration as its theme and this website is not any different. I recently watched a DVD from Belfast with Men,Women and children in Celtic tops getting battered by the RUC, I saw no policy of integration there. Respect for those who gave their lives for Irish freedom means more to me than chewing the fat about Samaras or Brown. And like most Celtic websites I visit I noted they too showed a mark of respect for the 10. This is not to say I don't welcome others with diffrent creeds or skin colour to our club or website, more than welcome. As for the reduction in the numbers visiting the Emerald I can only assume you think there is some link between people singing the songs and people deciding not to come to the Emerald ? If this is the case I can only recall the old firms games when their maybe a sing song, and why not, lets be proud of our Irish roots and heritage, it is an Irish club after all. I don't buy that argument though, Celtic will be nearly 30,000 season ticket holders down this season and it has nothing to do with the green brigade in the corner, pishh football, the econony, job losses will be the only reasons for this. As for attendances at the Emerald, I use the same 3 reasons again and the fact most people have Sky/Espn at home. So there you go, looking forward to the weekend to see the Celts play again, meet fellow Celtic fans and belt out a few tunes at the Emirates, TAL. | 26/07/2010 22:04 |
| Angus | My point could have been made better, I appreciate that. Nonetheless, Celtic is a club with an integrated, inclusive support, unlike other clubs: "Brother Walfrid saw the need for social integration and his vision was a football club that Scottish and Irish, Protestants and Catholics alike could support." While I am quite happy to discuss politics with anyone over a beer in any bar or club where the surroundings are appropriate I think that comments on an, open, Celtic FC supporter’s web site can negate the aim of integration. Numbers at the Emerald have dwindled vastly at Celtic games and it is no longer first choice venue for a lot of supporters to watch games. We should all try to encourage any Celtic supporter regardless of creed, colour or political bias to join together in football related banter her on this site! | 24/07/2010 13:55 |
| Paddy Willis | Mention that line below to most Celtic fans and you would have trouble on your hands, including me. Show a bit of respect. | 22/07/2010 22:40 |
