1. Minutes of last meeting

The minutes of the last committee meeting were read and accepted as a true record.

2. Clarification of roles of committee

Karl announced his intention to stand down as web-site manager. The site has been redesigned so that it will take very little in the way of maintenance. Karl agreed to oversee day to day maintenance of the site and Andy will undertake any redevelopment required in the future.

3. Clarification of club rules in relation trips without committee backing

Issues have been raised regarding running mini-buses to games that the club has opted not to run a club trip. In the light of this some rules and policies need clarification.

The club has no objection to members making their own arrangements to go to Celtic games when there is no club trip being organised. However, this should not be advertised in the club newsletter as a club trip. Phil requested that individuals do not order their tickets from Celtic ticket services using the WSCSC name. This is to protect WSCSC’s good name and standing with Celtic in case of any trouble arising on the private trip.

On a committee backed club trip the club will cover any insurance excess on the minibus. However, if a minibus trip does not have committee backing the people travelling on the bus must take responsibility for any insurance excess.

4. Clarification of when the club will order tickets

On a committee backed club trip the club will order all tickets for those who have passed their name and money to Phil/John. For all other games members will have to source their own tickets.

5. Web-site

There have been recent problems with offensive and inappropriate comments being posted on the supporters’ comments section of the web-site. It was agreed that this reflects badly on the club and it was agreed that sometimes it is acceptable to remove comments deemed to be unacceptable. Censorship is always a contentious issue, so to avoid any one person having to shoulder the responsibility for monitoring comments Karl and Andy have devised a system for the section which will allow anyone reading to mark a comment as offensive. If three separate individuals deem a comment inappropriate the comment will be hidden from the main section but will remain accessible via a hyperlink.

It was agreed that we should trial this system for a time and evaluate it’s success.

6. Proposed club trip on 11th September

The committee earmarked this game for a club trip at the last meeting. However, the coach company is unable to fulfil this booking. The committee discussed the possibility of targeting a different game but there were no other suitable dates. Therefore, the committee agreed to try to run a mini-bus to this game. Rob Sutherland has agreed to drive and will source the minibus.

7. Live games at Emerald

The pre-season friendly match between Celtic and Chelsea was screened at the Emerald club but was poorly attended by club members. Phil reminded everyone that the Emerald have committed a large amount of money to screen these games and it is important that members attend these games when they are able.

8. Membership renewals

Membership forms were sent out with the last newsletter but members are being slow to return them this year. Phil requested that everyone do what they can to spread the word and encourage members to renew.

9. Membership cards

Andy will produce 100 membership cards. More cards can be produced later in the season if required.

10. Newsletter/posters

Karl and Andy have produced posters advertising upcoming televised games to be displayed in and around the Emerald club.

Andy will produce the next newsletter to go out ASAP. This newsletter will only go to this seasons membership list.

11. Club shirts/badges

The first batch of club shirts has nearly sold out. Phil will order another batch of t-shirts, possible in white this time.

The club badges have now arrived and are on sale for £2 each.

12. Treasurer’s report

The club’s bank balance currently stands at £1977.

13. AOB

No further matters were raised.

14. Date and time of next meeting

Mid August. Exact date and time to be confirmed.
