1. Previous Trip – Dundee United 16/09/03
Concerns among some of the committee were highlighted regarding the scenario with the bus on our recent trip to Celtic park. Nine out of ten wheel nuts sheered off, the rear right wheel, unexpectedly forcing the bus to stop on the M6 south bound to await recovery. Although major injury was avoided it was agreed to have further dialogue with the bus company in the hope that this does not happen again.

2. Next Club Trip – Motherwell 20/09/03
As usual all people who want to go on this trip to forward monies to our treasurer, John Parsons, as soon as possible.

3. The Emerald/Sky TV/Setanta
Despite a few teething problems The Emerald club have finally got Sky TV installed within the club, at our request. The Emerald have invested a substantial amount of money (£3000) to enable this to happen and have to invest a further £1700 just to view Celtic games via Setanta. The committee are very pleased that they have done this and feel that we owe it to them to turn up in numbers, when possible, to view such games. A meeting is to be arranged with the Emerald committee and our own committee to finalise the package of Celtic games.

4. Ideas to attract members – to our club and to watch live games.
As a base, we believe the Emerald club provides us with an excellent opportunity and catchment area of Celtic Support, not only in Wolverhampton but the Midlands. In order to make known to people there is a Celtic supporters club in Wolverhampton and that live games will be screened here we are to undertake a few promotional activities. Advertisements in the local press, flyers to members, word of mouth (Walsall and Telford), posters in The Emerald/University, club newsletter will all play a part over the coming months in spearheading a mini advertising campaign. The next live game to be screened at the Emerald will be 13th September against Dundee, K.O. 12:30pm.

5. Newsletter
It was agreed that the club would attempt to get a newsletter out to all members, if not before the Ireland Game on the 6th Sept, then during the course of the following week. Peter had numerous parts to place in the newsletter but if anyone else wished to contribute then email him the information.

6. WSCSC/Emerald Membership Cards
At present we have 63 members and still counting. The committee feel that it is now overdue for its members to have their own membership card. There have been teething problems over this issue with the designer unable, at present, to produce them. It was agreed by the committee that if there was still no progress by the end of this week then alternative avenues would be explored. It was also agreed that once the membership total reaches 70 then we would inform the Emerald and become members of this also, at a cost of £2 each (to be incurred by WSCSC).

7. Treasurer Update
At present we have a balance of £1765. The last trip incurred a loss of £71, but this could have been worse if a refund of £271 was not forthcoming from the bus company. The Arsenal Trip also made a loss of £17, but this was offset with £34 revenue generated from raffle cards.

8. Website
There are a number of things waiting to be put onto the website over the next few days (committee photos, Dundee United photos, Arsenal Photos). If anyone has any suggestions on improving the website then please feel free to email Karl directly.

9. Emerald Meeting
WSCSC were informed that there was a committee meeting within the Emerald scheduled for Sunday 7th September, which select WSCSC members are attending. It is an opportunity to put “our points of view” to the Emerald regarding many of the things listed above.

10. Next Meeting
There will be an open meeting on Tuesday 2nd September, as advertised in the last newsletter. Everyone is urged to attend and very welcome to do so. There will be no agenda……the members will discuss issues pertinent to the running of the club.

11. AOB
Phil informed us that he received a refund cheque from the Celtic Supporters association of £252 fro previous membership.
