Emerald Update
Phil, Karl and Roy conducted a meeting with the emerald club committee just
before Christmas, the minutes of which can be found here.
Club Membership/Emerald Membership
At present it was reported that 71 members are now registered for season 2005/06.
The emerald club are now requiring payment for their own season renewals and
they are requesting full payment per member (£5). This issue caused some
controversy at the meeting as it is well documented that the emerald club neglects
to enforce any sort of membership agenda, with many people utilising the services
of the club without payment. Why should WSCSC members be forced to pay £5
when anyone can walk into the club and watch a live football match? At this
time the committee agreed to pay £4 per member and wait to see if any
membership agenda develops over the forthcoming season.
Next Club trip (Motherwell 22/01/06)
It was stated by Phil that 13 people (including driver) are to go on the away
trip to Motherwell on 22/01/2006. Tickets were priced at £24. Phil asked
for the club to part subsidise expenses of the day (the petrol costs of the
mini bus) which the committee agreed to.
Future Club Trips
There were a number of games to which the committee felt it would be possible
to organise a trip to. The club’s focus would be for Aberdeen on 04th
March and then, if there was sufficient numbers, Hearts on 01/04. A newsletter
would go out after Motherwell game to advertise impending trips.
Next newsletter
Andy Sutherland stated that the week after the Motherwell game on 22/01 would
be the ideal time to get a newsletter out to members highlighting a number of
factors happening within the club. Phil intimated that he would, once again,
assist in its completion.
Treasurer report
John said at present we had £2,640 in the bank. He highlighted that the
club lost £235 on the last club trip to Celtic park v Hibernian on 10/12/05.
Donation/Wreath for sister Brennan
Following the passing of Sister Brennan it was agreed by the committee that
the club should do something as a mark of respect. Phil was to see what was
deemed suitable whether it be a donation or a wreath. The funeral was held at
Penn Cemetery on Thursday 12/01/06.
AOB
Karl mentioned the fact that no raffle had been done at the previous two live
matches and begged the question why. Phil hastened to add that it was Christmas
we did not want to continually push it in people’s faces and with Roy
not being “as mobile” as his normal self, no one else volunteered
to take up his duties.
Next Meeting
To be decided by committee when one is required.
